Recreation and Outdoor Adventures

DryThe love of nature and our beautiful surrounding mountains have long been a magnet for attracting visitors and second home owners to the Highlands Plateau.  Outdoor activities include hiking, visiting waterfalls and the Highlands Nature Center & Biological Center.  The Highlands Recreation Center  has a large year-round swimming pool.  A winter ice rink opened in January 2016 and is available for ice skating until early March.

Our Visitor’s Center has a full list of area waterfalls and hiking trails, along with driving directions.
